It isn't just CO2 that is classed a green house gas - there are others, each with different potency. Although CO2 has the lowest global warming potential (GWP), the enormous volume produced means that it accounts for over 80% of the UK's output.

- Hydrofluorocarbons - 140 to 11700
- Nitrous Oxide - 310 (used in squirty aerosol cream)
- Perfluorocarbons - 6500 to 9200
- Sulphur hexafluoride - 22,200-23,900
