Most of Mather and Platt's past employees probably look back with fond memories of their time at Park Works even though, occasionally, they may not have been quite so enjoyable at the time!
This web site contains my personal recollections of the education, training and experience that I received in design, manufacturing and IT during my employment at Mather and Platt. I joined as a Special Apprentice in September 1976 and left in January 1985. During that time, I spent three years studying Mechanical Engineering at Birmingham. I left to join GEC Traction, as it was then, but that's another story.
